Blossoming Tea - Flower Tea
It certainly one of those special occasion drinks. If you want to impress the neighbors invite them round for pot of Blossoming Tea. I sure know I was impressed! Some of China's finest flower tea is produced in the province of Fujian. Fujian is in the south east of China with Zhejiang province to it's north and Guandong to the South. The province is also famous for it's production of fine Oolong teas. Fujian is one of the most renound provinces in China for producing tea, it produces all of the different major types. Black, white, green, scented and Oolong are all grown there. It is believed that Oolong was originally created in Fujian. 
Fujian has a mild, sub-tropical climate perfect for tea growing. It also produces crops such as rice, soy beans, tobacco and rubber. The province is situated on the coast, separated from Taiwan by the Taiwan Straights. The method of producing Oolong tea is said to have been taken to nearby Taiwan where many fine Formosa Oolongs are now cultivated.
The flower teas are made by tying a flower called a 'common globe amaranth' in the middle of the tea. The tea is best made in a glass because as the flower unfolds it creates an amazing effect which needs to be completely on display.
